Voting Yes on K will do
a lot of things in Truckee:
-
Fix potholes
-
Maintain and improve local roads, sidewalks, and roadside bike lanes
-
Remove snow from local roads
-
Repair aging bridges and infrastructure
-
Protect water quality in local creeks, rivers, and lakes
-
Improve roadway safety for drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians
But there is ONE THING Measure K won't do...

Measure K won’t increase taxes by one penny!

Dedicated Road Funding Set to Expire
Since 1998, Truckee has relied on dedicated, locally controlled funding to fix potholes and repair and maintain local roads, sidewalks, roadside bike lanes, bridges, and storm drains. This funding is now set to expire.
Renew Local Road Funding Without Increasing Taxes
Measure K is not a new tax. Voting Yes on K simply renews dedicated road funding at the current rate (no increase) to prevent the loss of $4 million annually from a ½% sales tax paid by both residents and visitors.
Repair Roads and Protect Water Quality
Voting Yes on K allows Truckee to continue maintaining more than 160 miles of local roads and 16 bridges, six of which are more than 50 years old. Voting Yes on K also protects our local water quality and watersheds by preventing polluted runoff from entering local waterways.
